Astrology platforms combine three businesses in one product: free tools that bring visitors in (kundli, horoscopes), paid consultations with astrologers, and a store for poojas and products.
I built Vedara, a live astrology platform at leocorp.co.in with free kundli, live astrologer chat, online pooja booking and a sacred shop. This page explains what such a platform needs if you want your own.
Core parts of an astrology platform
- Free kundli and charts — birth details in, chart and report out. The calculation engine is chosen early, because accuracy is what users judge first.
- Astrologer profiles — expertise, languages, ratings and availability.
- Consultations — live chat (and calls where required) with wallet or per-session billing, plus booking for scheduled sessions.
- Pooja and store — pooja booking and an online shop for products, with order tracking.
- Admin — astrologer onboarding, payouts, consultation logs, refunds and content.
Decisions to make before the build
| Decision | Options |
|---|---|
| Billing model | Wallet with per-minute deduction, fixed-price sessions, or subscriptions. |
| Calculation engine | A licensed astrology API or an in-house calculation library. |
| Languages | Hindi and English at launch, regional languages later. |
| Astrologer payouts | Commission split, payout cycle and tax handling. |
| App or web first | Web platform first, then a mobile app on the same API. |
Example: Vedara
Vedara (leocorp.co.in) runs free kundli, live astrologer chat, online pooja and a sacred shop on one platform. You can see it working before we talk about your version — it shows how consultations, payments and the store sit together.
Adding a mobile app later
The platform exposes an API from the start, so an Android and iOS app can be added without rebuilding the backend. The app phase is usually built with React Native. If several astrology brands will run on one platform, the architecture becomes multi-tenant — see Laravel SaaS development.
Book a call to discuss your billing model and which features you need at launch.
