If you are about to hire a Laravel developer, the hard part is not finding one. A search turns up hundreds of profiles in ten minutes. The hard part is figuring out who will still be answering your messages in month three, when the demo is late and the payment gateway is throwing a 500 on staging.
I'm Arun Tyagi, a freelance Laravel engineer working from Sector 58, Noida. Founders who want to hire a Laravel developer in India without the agency layer work with me directly: I take on a small number of builds at a time, write the code myself, and quote in writing before you spend anything. Below is how that works — what you get, what it costs, and when I will tell you to go elsewhere.
Start with a short brief
Five to ten sentences on WhatsApp is enough. I reply the same day, usually within a couple of hours IST.
How hiring me actually works
- Brief. You tell me what the product does, who uses it, and what must work on launch day. Screenshots and half-finished Notion pages are welcome.
- Discovery call. Thirty minutes, free. I ask annoying questions about payments, roles and the data you already have.
- Written Phase-1 scope. Within about 48 hours you get a document with modules, milestones, a fixed price and a list of what is deliberately left out.
- Milestones on staging. Every milestone is demoed on a live staging URL. You approve, then we move on. No big reveal at the end.
- Launch and handover. Deployment, a short runbook, and a repository you own from day one.
What you can hire me for
- Multi-tenant SaaS backends with billing, roles and an admin panel — details on Laravel SaaS development.
- REST APIs for mobile apps and React or Next.js frontends, secured with Sanctum — see Laravel API development.
- Internal tools: CRMs, approval flows, reporting dashboards that replace spreadsheets.
- Rescue work on an inherited codebase that nobody wants to touch.
- Monthly retainers for upgrades, performance work and small features.
Pricing, without the fog
| Engagement | Typical range | What decides the number |
|---|---|---|
| Feature or API sprint | ₹40,000–₹1,20,000 | Number of endpoints, third-party integrations |
| Lean SaaS MVP | ₹1,20,000–₹4,50,000 | Tenancy model, billing, admin depth |
| Custom web application | ₹60,000–₹2,50,000+ | Roles, reports, data migration |
| Hourly consulting or audit | ₹3,000 per hour | Code review, architecture, performance |
| Monthly retainer | Quoted after scope | Hours reserved, response time expected |
Startups that want hourly help rather than a fixed project can book the ₹3,000/hour rate in blocks. Clients in the Gulf get AED quotes on the Dubai page — same engineer, same process.
Freelancer, agency or in-house?
An agency makes sense when you need design, QA, project management and a dozen people on a fixed date. An in-house hire makes sense when the product is your company and you will build for years. A freelancer fits the stretch in between: you know what you want, you need it built properly, and you do not want to pay for a bench.
My honest weak spot: I am one person. If you need five developers starting Monday, I will say so on the call and point you elsewhere.
What to check before you hire any Laravel developer
- A live project you can open, not only screenshots.
- A written scope with exclusions before the first invoice.
- Repository access from the first commit.
- Staging demos on a schedule you agree up front.
