I'm Arun Tyagi, a senior freelance Laravel developer in India, working from Noida. I build SaaS backends, REST APIs, admin panels, and payment systems for founders across India — Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune — and for remote teams abroad. WhatsApp +91 8791775933 · Book a free call.

Working with a freelance Laravel developer from anywhere in India

Most of my Indian clients never meet me in person. A Bengaluru SaaS team, a Pune manufacturer and a Jaipur ed-tech founder all work the same way: a written scope, weekly staging demos, WhatsApp for quick questions and a video call when a decision needs a conversation. Invoices are in INR with GST where applicable, and payment follows milestones. If you are close to Noida and want to meet, the Noida page explains how that works — many clients who first found me as a freelancer Laravel developer in Noida now work fully remote.

What makes a Laravel project go wrong — and how I prevent it

The most common Laravel codebase problems I see when auditing inherited projects:

  • Controllers with 400+ lines of business logic
  • Eloquent relationships not eager-loaded (N+1 queries that destroy performance at scale)
  • No feature tests on payment flows
  • Environment variables hardcoded in config files committed to Git

These aren't junior mistakes — they're what happens when delivery pressure removes space for architecture decisions. I build with these failure modes in mind from day one.

A real N+1 problem I fixed — code included

Inherited code — fine at 100 records, catastrophic at 50,000:

$orders = Order::all();
foreach ($orders as $order) {
    echo $order->customer->name; // fires a query per order row
}
// result: 50,001 queries for 50,000 orders

My fix — two queries instead of 50,001:

$orders = Order::with('customer')
    ->whereDate('created_at', '>=', $startDate)
    ->select(['id', 'customer_id', 'total', 'status', 'created_at'])
    ->cursorPaginate(50);
// Result: 2 queries total. Response time: ~40ms vs ~38 seconds.

N+1 is invisible in development (50 test records) and catastrophic in production (50,000). I add Laravel Debugbar during development specifically to catch these before they reach production.

Laravel architecture decisions that matter long-term

Service layer vs fat controllers

Controllers should receive a request, call a service, and return a response. Business logic that lives in a controller cannot be reused — and cannot be tested without bootstrapping the entire HTTP layer. I use service classes and action classes to keep business logic portable.

Queues for everything slow

Any operation that takes more than 200ms should be a queue job: sending email, generating PDFs, calling external APIs, resizing images. Laravel Horizon gives a real-time dashboard for queue throughput and failures. I configure this in every production Laravel project.

What I build with Laravel

  • SaaS applications with multi-tenant architecture — database-per-tenant or row-level separation depending on compliance requirements. See Laravel SaaS development.
  • REST APIs for React, Next.js, or mobile — versioned endpoints (/api/v1/), Sanctum or Passport, rate limiting, Postman collections as a deliverable.
  • Admin panels and internal dashboards — role-based access, audit trails, CSV/PDF export, scheduled reports.
  • Payment integrations — Razorpay (India), Stripe (international), webhook signature verification, retry logic for failed transactions.
  • Legacy Laravel upgrades — 5.x/6.x/8.x to 12/13. Test coverage first, then incremental upgrades with feature flags.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Laravel development cost in India?

Most projects range from about Rs.40,000 for a scoped MVP to Rs.2,50,000+ for a full platform; international projects start from about $1,500. Pricing is fixed after a free scoping call.

Do you work with clients outside Delhi NCR?

Yes. Most Indian clients, from Bengaluru to Pune, work fully remote with weekly staging demos and INR milestone invoices.

Do you upgrade older Laravel versions?

Yes. Upgrades from Laravel 5.x, 6.x or 8.x to 12/13 are regular work. I start with an audit and tests, then upgrade incrementally.

Can you build a React frontend for a Laravel API?

Yes. Laravel API with Sanctum auth and a React or Next.js frontend is the stack I build most often, with a Postman collection delivered.

How long does a Laravel SaaS platform take?

An MVP with core features usually takes 6-8 weeks; a full SaaS with billing, tenancy and admin 10-16 weeks once scope is frozen.
